The IndexNow tool that covers every search engine Google does not

Google ignores the IndexNow protocol — but Bing, Yandex, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo do not. IndexMyURL uses the IndexNow tool as one of its parallel crawl signal channels, so every URL you submit reaches all major search engines simultaneously. No setup on your server. No verification files. No limits.

What is an IndexNow tool?

IndexNow is an open protocol developed by Microsoft and Yandex that lets websites notify search engines the moment a URL is created, updated or deleted — without waiting for the next scheduled crawl. Instead of Googlebot discovering a page on its own schedule, IndexNow pushes the URL directly to every participating engine simultaneously.

An IndexNow tool handles the authentication, key management and API calls on your behalf — so you get the benefits of the protocol without having to host a verification file on every domain you want to submit.

IndexMyURL uses IndexNow as one of three parallel crawl channels on every submission — alongside a dedicated Google signal channel and a third channel covering 20+ additional ping services. See backlink indexer pricing.

Why Google does not use IndexNow — and how IndexMyURL fills the gap

IndexNow covers 10%+ of global search traffic. Google covers the other 90%. You need both.

❌ IndexNow alone — the gap

Google (89% of traffic) does not participate in IndexNow
Submitting via IndexNow alone misses the most important search engine
You still need a separate mechanism to notify Google
Most IndexNow tools only cover Bing and Yandex — not Google

✅ IndexMyURL — full coverage

IndexNow channel covers Bing, Yandex, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo
Dedicated Google channel fires simultaneously on every submission
Third channel covers 20+ additional ping and crawl services
All three channels fire in parallel — one submission, five engines

IndexNow tool FAQ

Common questions about IndexNow and how IndexMyURL uses it.

What is IndexNow and which search engines support it?

IndexNow is an open protocol that lets websites notify search engines immediately when content is created, updated or deleted. Search engines that support IndexNow include Bing, Yandex, Seznam.cz and Naver. When you submit a URL via IndexNow, participating engines share the signal with each other automatically.

Does IndexNow work for Google?

No. Google does not participate in the IndexNow protocol. IndexMyURL handles Google separately using its own crawl signal channel alongside IndexNow — so every submission reaches Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Yandex simultaneously with no gaps in coverage.

Do I need to set up IndexNow on my own server to use it?

No. IndexMyURL handles all IndexNow authentication and submission on your behalf. You do not need to add a verification key to your server, configure any DNS records, or touch your site at all. Just submit your URLs and IndexMyURL does the rest.

What is the difference between IndexNow and Google Search Console?

Google Search Console lets you request crawling for individual URLs manually — one at a time, with daily limits. IndexNow is an automated protocol for notifying Bing and Yandex in bulk. IndexMyURL combines both: it uses IndexNow for Bing and Yandex, and its own Google channel separately, covering all major search engines in one submission.

How fast does IndexNow submit URLs to Bing and Yandex?

IndexNow submissions are sent within minutes of campaign creation. Bing and Yandex typically process IndexNow signals faster than traditional crawl discovery — often within hours. You can track the status of every URL in your IndexMyURL dashboard in real time.

Can I use the IndexNow tool for backlinks on other people's sites?

Yes. IndexMyURL submits any publicly accessible URL via IndexNow — including backlinks on third-party sites, guest posts, citations and directory listings. You do not need to own or control the domain to submit it.
